About Le Petit Gazon

The property found & bought by Elly de Laat in 2011 was a place she felt immediately connected to.

It is a beautiful basic place in the mountains hidden in the forests of the High Vosges in France.

An inspiring location with endless possibilities. So much that it would take years, and more to realize the intention and vision for it, which is:

To become a suitable place for people to be outdoors and/or to work there in construction or on the land.

To be a place for people to grow by meeting themselves and others.

To be a place for exploring quietness, creativity, and art.

About Me

Although Elly is the permanent resident of the location, many people have helped build up the property.

Therefore at the end of 2016, it was decided to found Le Petit Gazon. Elly is the driving force together with her sisters and her family. She grew up as a farmer’s daughter and the eldest of a family of six. And started her career with a small business as an organic gardener. She later became a creative therapist and worked in that profession for twenty years. Over time she further developed herself as a relationship and family therapist in the Netherlands.

She moved to France in 2009 and started to work as a counselor for Dutch youths who follow a special education program. Since 2019 she is also active as a nanny in Switzerland.

“For me, the association is a way to meet others on the spot and to let them share in being together in nature, in the creative life that lives us and not the other way around”.
